Overcoming the Fear of the Internet We are often afraid of that which we do not know or understand. This is often referred to as the "fear of the unknown". Unfortunately, for many philanthropic organizations, this fear is all too real. The simple reason is that there is a lack of knowledge amongst those that are "afraid". This seminar sheds light on the source of these fears and how they are unwarranted. Attendees will gain the realization that technology is a tool that's no different from any other hardware tool available today. At the conclusion of this seminar, the attendee will view the latest technology as a companion to every-day tasks and interests and will learn of the many available FREE technical education facilities in their area. Recommended audience: The technically challenged
Introduction to Using Technology in Non Profit Organizations An introduction to the way philanthropic organizations should approach technology. Corporate America has been pushing the technology envelope for decades by demanding newer, better and faster technological inventions while; Academia and Philanthropy have struggled to keep pace. As Corporate America continues to realize billions in profits with assisted technologies, it's clear that the burden to solve problems faster is laid on the shoulders of technology. Unfortunately, the same problem-solving technology is often put to blame when "side effects" arise. These "side-effects" can be ethical issues, biological concerns or even technological challenges that seemingly all new technologies face when conceived. It is through these "side effects" that negative press and bad publicity is often berthed. It is at that unfortunate moment in the life of new technology that Philanthropy begins to pay attention. Should it be that the corporate world reap all the benefits of today's technology when it's available for everyone to use? This 1-2 hour presentation explains how non profit organizations can boost their efforts through today's technology including: using the Internet, personal computers, audio/video equipment, mobile and wireless technologies and every-day business machines. Recommended audience: Non Profit Leaders and Philanthropists |
